Recap of the People's Climate March

Last year, over 400,000 people took to the streets to march for climate justice. Those thousands of people became part of the biggest climate march in history, The People's Climate March.

At the frontline of the march were hundreds of young people of color from frontline communities who also participated in the 4th NYC Climate Justice Youth Summit. A handful of those hundreds of young people were UPROSE Youth Justice members who worked countless hours organizing the Summit and then mobilizing young people to the frontline of the march.


Here is a reminder of such a powerful moment in history.

Summer of Our Power

UPROSE is part of the Climate Justice Alliance and this year the theme of the Summit is the "Summer of Our Power". The Climate Justice Alliance’s Summer of Our Power launched on the Summer Solstice in recognition of our interrelated, interdependent, and complementary relationship with Mother Earth. Over the next two months, CJA’s Summer of Our Power will strengthen and build our movement for achieving this vision, with a focus on creating a just transition away from an economy based on extraction and exploitation.
